General Manager
Samuel Ato Arhin is a visionary leader and environmental advocate currently serving as the General Manager of National Material Recovery Limited. With a steadfast commitment to environmental sustainability and combating climate change, Samuel has dedicated his career to revolutionizing urban mining, recyclable material recovery, and waste management practices.
His professional journey began at ZOOMLION Ghana Limited in 2012, where he excelled as an Assistant Landfill Supervisor before assuming the role of Landfill Officer at Waste Landfills Limited. In 2023, Samuel transitioned to National Material Recovery Limited, leveraging his expertise to drive the company’s mission. He holds a diverse educational background, including an HND in Building Technology, a BSc in Quantity Surveying and Construction Economics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), and an MSc in Development Management (KNUST).
Samuel’s accomplishments include overseeing major landfills, implementing recycling programs, and undergoing specialized training in Urban Mining and Recycling in Thailand. As General Manager, he remains dedicated to advancing environmental sustainability and promoting initiatives to combat climate change.
Business Development Manager
Rebecca stands at the forefront of innovation and strategic growth at National Material Recovery Limited (NAMARCO), where she holds the dual role of Research and National Training Coordinator and Business Development Manager. With a robust background in environmental sciences and Development Management as well as a proven track record in business development within the waste management and recycling industry, Rebecca brings a wealth of expertise and a forward-thinking approach to NAMARCO.
Educational Background:
Rebecca earned a Bachelors and Masters of science degrees in Integrated Development Studies and Development Management, respectively, from the University for Development Studies, and a Doctoral degree in Environmental Science from the University of Ghana. She also holds certificates in Wasteology: Urban Mining Business with Recycling from the ASEAN Institute of Recycling (AIR); Executive Certificate in Leadership and Strategy from the Institute of Leadership and Strategy; Sustainable Reverse Logistics in a Digital Age from the Centre for Applied Research and Innovation in Supply Chain-Africa (CARISCA); and a Certified Monitoring and Evaluation Professional certificate from the Vantage Africa School of Leadership, and others. These academic pursuits laid the foundation for a career dedicated to sustainability and the development of eco-friendly business strategies.
Professional Journey:
Rebecca has over 14 years of professional experience in the waste and sanitation industry. She began her career in the waste management sector, quickly establishing herself as a visionary with a knack for identifying and developing new opportunities. Before joining NAMARCO, Rebecca served in varied capacities, including Overseeing District Waste Management Operations, Heading Regional Janitorial Services, Senior Officer- Research Innovations and Development, and Senior Associate- Environmental Analysis and others, with several leading subsidiaries within the Jospong Group of Companies, where they led numerous successful projects focused on waste management operations and sustainable business practices.
Role and Responsibilities:
As the Research and National Training Coordinator, Rebecca oversees NAMARCO’s research projects and training programs, ensuring they align with the company’s mission to lead in recyclables recovery and trading. She spearheads innovative research to advance recycling technologies and implement training programs for staff and partners to promote best practices in material recovery.
In her role as Business Development Manager, Rebecca is responsible for identifying growth opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and expanding NAMARCO’s reach within and beyond the Jospong Group subsidiaries. Her strategic vision and commitment to sustainability have been key drivers in NAMARCO’s growth, positioning the company as a leader in the recyclables recovery and trading sector.
